Satisfy Your Soul

Have you ever been so thirsty your tongue stuck to the roof of your mouth? Have you been thirsty enough you thought you would faint? Have you thought your soul can be thirsty? Do you know there is One who can satisfy your thirst?

We all get thirsty. Our bodies need water to survive. The more active we are the more water we need. We may experience times when water isn’t readily available. Or we may get busy and forget to drink water. At those times, our bodies will remind us of its need for water.

Our souls also need to be satisfied. Just as our bodies need water, our souls need the Spirit of God. There is only One who can give our souls what it craves—Jesus Christ. He has called us to Him. He has told us He will give us what we crave. He will satisfy our souls with His Spirit.

Jesus can and will satisfy the thirst of our souls. He promised to give us the Holy Spirit. He promised to send us a Helper. He promised to send us a Counselor. He promised to send us a Guide. He promised the Holy Spirit would flow through us to the point of overflowing, if we will simply accept Him as Lord and Savior, committing our lives to Him.

I pray we all commit our lives to Jesus. I pray we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. I pray we allow Jesus to satisfy the thirst our souls have for the Spirit of God. Satisfy your thirst. Commit to Jesus. Accept Jesus as Lord. Accept Jesus as Savior. Receive the Holy Spirit. Overflow with the Spirit.

John 7:37-39 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
