How strongly do you hold on to promises? Does it make a difference who is making the promise? Do you wish all promises were guaranteed to come true? Do you long for a promise that lasts a lifetime?
We all make promises. Sometimes, we cannot fulfill our promise. Unexpected things happen and the promise must be broken because of something of higher priority. It’s not that we don’t want to fulfill the promise, we simply are unable to.
When someone else breaks a promise they made to us, we are let down, perhaps even heartbroken. A child who has a promise broken is even more vulnerable. It is unfortunate that broken promises occur in our lives. Yet, there is a promise we can hold on to for a lifetime.
God has promised to make us His. His promise is fulfilled when we put our faith in Him. It is through His grace that the promise is guaranteed. Another significant part of God’s wonderful grace. His overflowing grace ensures the promise of eternal life with Him is kept.
Our faith in God is our part of the agreement. Though it is significant to us, God’s grace and His promise is far more significant than anything we can do. He blesses us through His grace. He protects us through His grace. He washes us clean through His grace. He gifts us with talents and spiritual gifts through His grace. As I have stated before, His grace is far bigger than we can imagine.
I pray we all put our faith in God. I pray we trust in God’s promises. I pray each one of us see God’s grace as bigger and more important in our lives than we truly know. Put your faith in God. Trust God’s promises. Know that God’s promises will never be broken. Accept God’s grace. Know that His grace is huge.
Romans 4:16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
