Are you head-strong and bent on being your own boss? Or will you work for someone else, and do as they instruct you to do? Are you seeking to be independent and not need assistance from anyone else? Or are you willing to accept the help of someone who can provide all you need?
We can be very head-strong, especially when we are young. We go out into the world thinking we are in control, or we believe we can be in control if given half a chance. It seems it is not until we have fallen flat on our faces a few times that we realize we are not in control.
The wiser we become, the more we realize there is someone far bigger than us who is in control. Our next step to take is to go beyond recognition of that person and submit to him—God. God is the one in control. When we realize that AND submit to him, we discover a new way of living. One that will lead to our success.
Seeing God as our master and the one who will direct us is the proper way of seeing him. Submitting to him and his will is the only way to live a truly successful life. We may never have more money than we can count. We may still go through troubling times. We may experience loss and heartache. But we will live a successful life because God will ensure it.
When we submit to God, we can be sure that his grace, mercy, and love will shower down upon us. We can be certain that God will light the pathway for us to follow, even if it is only one step at a time. The question we must wrestle with is, will we submit to God. It all boils down to whether we want a truly successful life or not.
I pray we all submit to God. I pray we know he is in control and will guide us down the path he desires. I pray each one of us will accept God’s guidance and live a successful life in him. Know that God is in control. Submit to his will. Follow his path for you. Trust God to lead you. Live a successful life.
Psalm 123:2
As the eyes of servants
look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a maid
to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
until he has mercy upon us.
