God Seeking His Sheep

Have you ever been lost and wish someone would come find you? Have you wished someone would help you find your way home? Have you been lost spiritually? Are you lost now? Do you know there is someone looking for you? Do you know that God is looking for you?

Many people in this world are lost. Perhaps you are one of them or have been one of them. They may not know they are lost. They may be going about their lives without realizing they are running down a path to destruction. They may be running in a fog of disillusion.

The prophet Ezekiel states that God will seek out his sheep. Though Ezekiel is referencing God bringing the Israelites back from their Babylon captivity, the premise holds true today. God continues to seek out his sheep. He continues to bring them out of slavery of all forms, most notably their slavery to sin. God is in constant pursuit.

God also sorts the sheep. Those who are arrogant, taking advantage of others, and ruling over them harshly will be removed from their positions. Those who are weak and ill will be strengthened and healed. God will bring his sheep back into his caring arms. He will provide for them. He will demonstrate his love for them. His grace and mercy will cover them. God fulfills his promises, both in the past and in the future.

I pray we all know that God continues to seek his sheep. I pray we trust that God will strengthen and heal. I pray each one of us will turn to God and trust in his promises. God is seeking his sheep. God will strengthen you. God will heal you. Turn to God. Trust in God’s promises.

Ezekiel 34:11-12 For thus says the Lord God: I myself will search for my sheep and will sort them out. As shepherds sort out their flocks when they are among scattered sheep, so I will sort out my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places to which they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness.
