Have you ever been thrust into a position you would rather not be in? Have you been told you must speak to a top-level leader? Have you had to brief a president, CEO, COO, CIO, general, or commander? Did you feel overwhelmed? Did you consider that God would be with you?
We can be pushed into situations we would never ask to be in. Briefing someone in the C-suite or a high-level military officer can be intimidating. It may not be the person but their title that intimidates us. We must remember that God is always with us and will guide us.
Moses, though having lived in Pharaoh’s house, did not consider himself worthy of going before Pharaoh. It had been forty years since he left Egypt. He was no longer a brash young man who thought he could change the world. He was now a shepherd. He had spent a lot of time alone in the fields, and had just recently crossed the wilderness, what we might consider to be a desert. Moses, in his humility, did not believe he was equipped for the mission God was sending him on. But God promised that he would be with Moses and provide a sign.
We may never speak to God in the same way Moses did. But if God is sending us on a mission, we can be sure he will be with us and he will provide what we need to succeed. Often, knowing whether it is God who is sending us or our own desire can be tricky. The best advice I can give is to pray over it, perhaps for several days. When peace has come upon one option or another, that is God providing you with the answer. We must remember God is with us every step of the way.
I pray we all ask God for guidance. I pray we trust God to be with us in all situations. I pray each one of us spend time in prayer as we determine to follow where God is leading us. Ask God for guidance. Trust God is with you. Spend time in prayer. Follow where God is leading you.
Exodus 3:11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
